About the founder, Jerry Lee Skipper
Jerry L. Skipper is a man that has not only obtained certifications and book knowledge about the core subjects in RAMS life recovery solutions, but he is a person who has actually experienced the hassles of re-entry, coping with anger and mental health challenges as a returning citizen into society. Being an individual who has spent 15 years in a prison system, Mr. Skipper has seen how the system can affect individuals directly and also how it can affect individuals indirectly. Friends and family are all affected when a loved one is incarcerated.
This is why Mr. Skipper developed this program. After coming home and seeing the hassles he had to encounter and how families and friends were affected by incarceration, he took the initiative to start doing studies and observations on Re-entry, Anger management, Mental health, and substance abuse. After realizing that 1 out of 4 adults dealt with some type of mental illness and that 46 percent of Americans will meet criteria for a diagnosable mental health condition during their lifetime, he decided to take action.
He developed a program that shows how oftentimes, anger issues and substance abuse issues stem from mental issues and in similitude that anger issues and substance abuse issues can stem from a lack of proper re entry skills, when being incarcerated.
Moreover, he developed a program that shows how emotional intelligence can help detour troubled teens from incarceration while at the same time, it can help adults deal with childhood trauma that ultimately will break the cycle of incarceration, a lack of self worth, and degrading complexes about one’s self.
As a substance abuse counselor, anger management specialist (CAMS 1), an ordained minister and life coach, Mr. Skipper travels around the world using his toastmaster international credentials and listed experiences conducting workshops, public speaking, and writing books that tackle the issues of everyday life.
